Interesting. A rumor that called both the names of the upcoming titles as well as the region being based on England/Great Britain was has detailed that the upcoming games will have a new type of Evolution called Armored Evolution, listing a few of the Pokemon that are supposed to get these new Armored Evolutions. This sounds a bit like Mega Evolutions, which does leave me a bit worried as a lot of them weren't particularly well-balanced and distribution wasn't particularly even. If it winds up functioning the same way (that's assuming that this rumor is completely real) then it comes off as redundant unless it's meant to replace Mega Evolutions, which I doubt.

It's actually odd that we haven't gotten much more info since the reveal. For Sun and Moon, it felt like we were getting info every other week. Granted, after the reveal of Sun and Moon February of 2016 we didn't get our first look at the game until May, but that wasn't exactly received well by fans, especially after a couple of instances where new info was promised and we got nothing out of it. So far, the only additional info we got out of Sword and Shield is that Gyms are returning and that there's a contest in Japan to name a new Steel-type move, likely used by a Legendary. Hope we get info soon, especially considering all of the "leaks" we've gotten over the past couple of months.

You know, rumors have been a dime-a-dozen sine GAME FREAK confirmed back in 2017 that Pokémon was coming to the Switch. We've seen a lot of rumors with plenty of cool and outlandish details. There is no way that all of them and a pretty big chance that none of them are true. That said, there are nuggets of ideas that would be great if implemented, so even if they are false they would still be much-desired concepts. One that turned up today was with regards to difficulty. The choice between a Beginner Mode and a Veteran Mode, with the former giving you a long tutorial and is primarily easy and simple, whereas the latter turns you loose within 5 minutes (for reference, Black and White have the shortest tutorial at about 10 minutes) without a tutorial and is generally harder with more difficult trainers and more options. I'm not entirely convinced this rumor is true, but this IS a feature that's long overdue alongside multiple save slots.

And the games have had a difficulty select before: it was just locked behind a convoluted key system.

Yeah, and the different difficulty settings were split between Black 2 and White 2, with Challenge Mode being exclusive to Black 2 and Easy Mode being exclusive to White 2. You could connect the two games to share the features with each other, but the fact of the matter was that you had to link the two games together to access them and you couldn't access them in the first place until you defeated the Champion. I appreciate GAME FREAK trying to expand on Black and White in both story and world, but that was not a practical design decision.
